In October last year, MFPA reported the case of Jurgen Borg, a 23 year old goalkeeper ex-U21 International, who was being prevented from registering with a new club.

Today, with immense pleasure we announce that Jurgen Borg, represented by MFPA (Carlo Mamo and Sihon Gauci) has won the case at CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) against MFA. This marks a historical win for football players in Malta and their fight for equal employment rights. MFPA would like to thank FIFPro’s legal team, especially Roy Vermeer, for their continuous support and endless patience.

The Malta Football Association has now been ordered to enable the registration of Jurgen Borg with any other Maltese Club, in accordance with the remaining applicable provisions. #justiceformalteseplayers
