Committed to protecting the rights of players

The Malta Football Players Association serves as the exclusive collective bargaining representative for all current players affiliated with the Malta Football Association.

Formed in March 2011, the Association ensures protection of the rights of all football players playing in Malta, while also promoting their best interests.

The MFPA is locally affiliated with SportMalta, a member of the Malta Football Association and also registered with the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations. Internationally the MFPA is a full member of FIFPRO which is the worldwide representative organisation for professional football players. Learn More

Anthony Galea

President

Anthony has been involved in Maltese football for the bigger part of his life.

Carlo Mamo

General Secretary

A former national team player, Carlo made his debut for his home town club Tarxien Rainbows in the 1997-98 season.

Konrad Sultana

Deputy Secretary

Konrad made his debut in the top division with Hamrun Spartans, after spending 4 years in the club’s youth sector, in season 1983-84.

Mark Barbara

Deputy Secretary

Mark made his debut in the top division with Valletta FC in 2003-04 after coming from their ranks.

Luke Zahra

Luke’s football career started from the young age of 4 with Hibernians. He later moved to Tarxien Rainbows when he turned 12.

Sihon Gauci

Sihon graduated from the University of Malta in 2011 with a doctoral degree in Law.

Gareth made history as captain of a Birkirkara side that became the first ever Maltese club to move to the third round of a European competition.
