It’s all about assisting football players – MFPA launches interactive magazine for members

Football players are at the centre of the work of the Malta Football Players Association (MFPA) and the latest initiative launched by the Association is in keeping with this mission.

Assist is the name of an online interactive magazine issued by the MFPA with the aim of keeping our members updated with the latest news and information on the Association’s projects and activities.

Carlo Mamo, the General Secretary of the MFPA, said: “As the name implies, Assist underlines our commitment to provide continuous assistance to our members in various forms, including legal support, advice on contractual matters, educational opportunities, and health support.

“Communication is an essential aspect of our daily work and this interactive magazine represents another step to reach out to the football players in Malta, in the process increasing awareness of the MFPA activities and opportunities available to our members.”

The first issue of Assist sheds light on many interesting initiatives and events, namely:

• The launch of the MFPA Player Council which is intended to facilitate discussion and the sharing of views on important matters affecting players at all levels;

• The After Career Consultation Programme which is aimed at improving the health and quality of life of former football players;

• Educational support offered by the Association, focusing on the first two editions of the MFPA Basic English Course, and other academic opportunities;

• Free information sessions on the application of first-aid treatment, integrity and mental health for football players and coaching staff at all clubs.

Enhanced with videos and images, Assist also features a preview of the upcoming 2022 MFPA Awards, an interview with MFPA Executive member Gareth Sciberras and the most recent statements published by the Association’s Media Office.

The first issue of Assist is available to all members of the MFPA. For further information one may send an email to info@maltafpa.com.
