The members of the MFPA Player Council met last Saturday to discuss various matters of interest for football players in the different categories, and the MFPA’s current and future initiatives.

The main points of the MFPA strategic plan for the period 2023-2026 were presented to the Player Council as part of the ongoing consultation process. The strategic plan will be launched early next year.

Women’s football and other important topics pertaining to Maltese football in general were also on the agenda of the meeting which was attended by the members of the MFPA Executive.

During the meeting, the MFPA presented the first MFPA Player of the Month awards to Matthew Guillaumier (Hamrun Spartans) and Lexine Farrugia (Raiders Lija). The awards were handed out by former Malta coach Ray Farrugia who also presented a copy of his autobiography to the members of the MFPA Executive and Player Council.

More meetings and discussions are planned for the coming months as the MFPA remains firmly committed to assisting football players in Malta and protecting their rights and interests.
